IMAT stands for Interactive Multimedia Arts & Technologies Association. It is a non-profit organization, dedicated to fostering growth and convergence between all partners in the new media cluster to strengthen the development, growth and recognition of Ontario’s world-class digital-media industry. IMAT provides industry research, professional development, marketing, promotion and international trade opportunities for the New Media industry.

Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) is a leader in high-performance computing, visualization, and storage. The company focus is exclusively on the technical computing market, and the technology is designed to enable the most significant scientific and creative breakthroughs of the 21st century. The products and services it offers are mission-critical to defense and homland security, science and research, manufacturing, energy and media industries.

SMART Toronto Technology Alliance is a leading member-based technology association that represents the interests of the technology industry within the Greater Toronto Area. It serves a diverse member company base that includes companies from all sectors of the technology industry, including: software developers, system integrators, telecommunications companies, internet companies, ISP’s, ASP’s, and content developers, as well as advanced manufacturers, government, education, and professional service companies that support the technology industry. Since November 2002, CATA and SMART have announced formal partnerships to offer business development services to their joint members.

German Partners

Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO) is Europe’s foremost organization for applied research. Located in Stuttgart, the heart of the automotive sector in Germany, the institution focuses on investigation of current topics in the field of technology management. It helps companies to identify the technologies relevant to their operations, and draws up a technology strategy aligned to the competitive environment and the market. Fraunhofer institute ultimately plans the development of technology for the entire enterprise, in the business sectors and in individual projects.
