IMAT stands for Interactive Multimedia Arts & Technologies Association. It is a non-profit organization, dedicated to fostering growth and convergence between all partners in the new media cluster to strengthen the development, growth and recognition of Ontario’s world-class digital-media industry. IMAT provides industry research, professional development, marketing, promotion and international trade opportunities for the New Media industry.

Magna is an automotive manufacturer that designs and develops automotive systems, assemblies, modules and components. The company engineers and assembles complete vehicles, primarily for sale to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of cars and light trucks in North America, Europe, Asia and South America. Magna provides the technical expertise to the USWS project, and make sure that it meets the needs of a major Canadian automotive supplier working on a global level.

SMART Toronto Technology Alliance is a leading member-based technology association that represents the interests of the technology industry within the Greater Toronto Area. It serves a diverse member company base that includes companies from all sectors of the technology industry, including: software developers, system integrators, telecommunications companies, internet companies, ISP’s, ASP’s, and content developers, as well as advanced manufacturers, government, education, and professional service companies that support the technology industry. Since November 2002, CATA and SMART have announced formal partnerships to offer business development services to their joint members.

Daimler Chrysler is one of the largest car manufacturers in the world. It’s large range of products runs from small cars to sports cars and luxury sedans; and from versatile vans to heavy duty trucks or comfortable coaches. With 382,724 employees, Daimler Chrysler achieved revenues of EUR 149.8 billion in 2005.

Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO) is Europe’s foremost organization for applied research. Located in Stuttgart, the heart of the automotive sector in Germany, the institution focuses on investigation of current topics in the field of technology management. It helps companies to identify the technologies relevant to their operations, and draws up a technology strategy aligned to the competitive environment and the market. Fraunhofer institute ultimately plans the development of technology for the entire enterprise, in the business sectors and in individual projects.
